A New Week at D&G Farms: Preparing Fish for Winter Shipping
November 14, 2025
As cooler weather settles across the country, our focus at D&G Farms shifts toward careful winter shipping preparation. Running a licensed Florida aquaculture farm means adapting to the seasons, and November always brings new challenges — and new opportunities to serve aquarium hobbyists with healthy, farm-raised fish.
Every order we ship begins long before a box goes out the door. In the weeks leading up to winter, we adjust feeding schedules, strengthen our stock with high-quality diets, and monitor tank temperatures closely. This ensures every fish — whether it's Platys, Cherry Barbs, Mexican Dwarf Crayfish, Guppies, or African Cichlids — is robust and ready for the stresses of travel.
Our winter packing process is refined and proven. Each shipment is prepared using insulated boxes, pure oxygen, and seasonal heat packs so fish arrive warm, active, and ready for your aquarium. After more than three decades of shipping live fish nationwide, we’ve learned that attention to detail is what protects live arrival.
Behind the scenes, the farm is staying busy. New species arrive weekly, including fresh batches of Platys, mollies, and other popular community fish. We're continuing to expand our offerings on TilapiaStore.com and bring hobbyists more choices as we head into the holiday season. From nano fish to hardy livebearers, our goal is to provide colorful, tank-raised fish that thrive in home aquariums.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Stay tuned for more updates from the farm — including new arrivals, breeding notes, and tips to help your aquarium thrive through the winter months.
