Flowerhorns Care Guides

Our listed Flowerhorns include Goldbase, Goldbase Ghost, Goldbase Hybrid, Goldbase Kamfa, and SRD strains. These ornamental hybrids share the same core care, while adult size, temperament, fertility, and color development vary by line and individual.

General Care

Flowerhorns are best planned as individual display fish. Use a mature aquarium, strong filtration and aeration, a secure lid, and protected equipment. Keep ammonia and nitrite at zero, test nitrate, and maintain regular water changes. Choose food for health and growth rather than expecting a product to guarantee head size or color. A young fish still needs adult space.

Tank sizes below are planning recommendations for adult care. Aquarium footprint, group size, filtration, and individual behavior can require more space. Use stable conditions within the listed range; avoid sudden changes.
