Description
The Cherry Barb ( Pethia titteya ) is one of the most colorful and peaceful freshwater barbs available. Males develop a rich cherry-red hue, while females display a warm copper tone, creating beautiful contrast in a planted or community aquarium. They are active but gentle and thrive when kept in groups of six or more .
Raised on our Florida fish farm , these barbs are hardy, tank-acclimated, and ready to bring color and activity to your aquarium.

Care Requirements

- Temperature: 73–79°F
- pH: 6.0–7.5
- Water Hardness: soft to moderate
- Tank Size: 20 gallons or larger
- Temperament: Peaceful; quieter than Tiger Barbs
- Setup: Provide plants and sheltered edges, including room for females to avoid displaying males.
- Diet: Fine flakes or micro-pellets plus daphnia and brine shrimp.
- Compatibility: Choose gentle small fish; avoid aggressive fish and very boisterous schools.
Use a fully cycled aquarium, stable water conditions, and regular water changes. Plan space for the animals as they grow.
Shipping
- Ships Mondays. Orders must be placed by Sunday night to ship Monday.
- Orders received after the Sunday-night cutoff ship the following Monday.
- Live animals are packed with oxygen in insulated boxes, with temperature protection as needed.
