Nano Fish Care Guides
This page brings together our listed small community fish and supporting bottom-dwellers and snails. Small size does not mean every species belongs in a tiny aquarium: schooling fish need groups, and bottom-dwellers need floor space.
General Care
Start with a mature, fully cycled aquarium, a fitted lid, shelter, and enough swimming and feeding room for each species. Keep ammonia and nitrite at zero and use regular water changes to control nitrate. Feed bottom-dwellers and snails directly instead of expecting them to survive on leftovers. Check that all tankmates share suitable temperature, hardness, and temperament.
Tank sizes below are planning recommendations for adult care. Aquarium footprint, group size, filtration, and individual behavior can require more space. Use stable conditions within the listed range; avoid sudden changes.
